Who We Are

What does “HIPS” mean?
HIPS stands for Hacienda Involved Parents and Staff. It consists of Hacienda parents and staff, who work together to better our children’s educational experience at Hacienda.

Who can be part of HIPS?
You! Me! Everyone! Every parent/guardian at Hacienda is considered a HIPS Member. Some HIPS members (parent/guardian) are more active than others, so you’ll see a lot of familiar faces at meetings and events. The more involved you are in volunteering, the more you’ll get to know other members/families and contribute to decision-making within HIPS!

What does HIPS do?
HIPS members volunteer:
You’ll see many parents around campus helping in many ways, such as: assisting in the classroom, at Outdoor Classroom workdays, teaching art lessons, helping with morning drop-off, volunteering at events and in lots of other “behind the scenes” places like our school office.

HIPS members organize our fundraisers:
Every year, HIPS raises vital funds through several fundraisers throughout the year. In the beginning of the year, our Membership Drive raises money to enhance the educational experience of all students at Hacienda. We are proud to have music teachers, school assemblies,
Art Vistas, an augmented science program and extras in the Media and Technology labs, and so much more – all because of the commitment parents like you give to our school.
